1. Why do the lips need to be stretched and held tautly?

If the lips not be stretched and held tautly when lip tattooing your needle will bounce on the surface like it’s jumping off a trampoline, thus causing undue trauma instead of pigment deposit.

2. Why the 3RL is better than 1RL for SMP?

Scalp micro pigmentation artists typically choose to use 3RL needles because they deliver the best results, provide optimal pigment retention, and are generally the safest option for application to the scalp. In contrast, using a 1RL needle is not recommended for scalp micropigmentation. This is because a single needle is overly sharp and fine, leading to significant skin inflammation, irritation, and bleeding. Excessive bleeding can negatively impact both long-term and short-term pigment retention.
